New Camera - Panasonic Lumix GF6

Last month on 17th Feb 2014, I bought a new camera!
I was looking at a mirrorless one, which is also called Micro Four Thirds
After looking through Samsung, Olympus and Panasonic, I finally decided on Panasonic as there were offer going on at Harvey Norman for it. Otherwise, I might still be having a hard time choosing the brands.

So, I got Panasonic Lumix GF6

I bought it at $749 with some freebies like:
Two 16GB SD Card
Tripod
Dry Box
Additional Original Battery
Two camera bags
Card Reader

I think that's all. Can't really remember already. Not sure if that's considered a good deal, as I have no experience in cameras industry. But since I've already bought it, it doesn't matter anymore.

So far, I am loving the camera!

Some shots I took with it:

My photo taking skills are still quite bad, so I don't think I brought justice to what the camera can actually do. Anyway, I'm going to learn along the way and will definitely be learning more on lenses and eventually invest in a better one. If you've done enough research, people from all around will tell you, a good lens with a mediocre camera will still produce quality photos while on the other way round, a good camera with normal lens may not be better.

And, I'm hoping to learn on editing photos soon! I think there's related modules which I might be studying in the future. If not, I can always opt for it as the elective module.

Let's hope I can take more better photos with my new toy!

Samsung Note II

Re-contracted my line today! Already planned to get Note II, so was anticipating the day to come. Initially can't decide between SIII & Note II. Ended up with Note II as S IV is coming out in May. Value for SIII will pretty much drop a lot, but I don't want to wait till May. Shall decide whether to sell Note II for S IV after it has come out depending on the specs and price.

Anyway, I paid $568 for this phone. Traded in my Sony Arc S for $100 but have to pay a penalty of $100 as I downgraded my plan before 24 months. Oh well. My first most expensive phone. Took the Grey one as they don't have White anymore. Loving the grey more and more though!

New Notebook

Bought a new notebook today. Not hard to choose from the wide varieties actually. As I've already decided on Toshiba as my next notebook's brand. The only thing is which model to choose. As a tech idiot, I have no idea about the specs etc. How I choose, is by design, size & price. Lol.

Went to Causeway Point, Courts to take a look. Initially was thinking of getting another Toshiba 13.3" white notebook, as it's $999. The salesman recommended it after hearing me saying the cheaper, the better. But then I took interest in another model beside the white one. Got the salesman to introduce it. And so, I got Toshiba M840 instead! Stood there for a few minutes, not sure which colour to choose. There's gold, blue & pink. Ended up with the pink one as the mother says the other two doesn't look nice.

Surprised it's pink though. As in the real life, it looks more to red. Which I'm glad. I'd prefer red to pink anytime.

There's more based on the pamphlet but the salesman didn't tell me, so not sure if it's still valid.

Ended up with $1588 after getting a 3rd year warranty with Courts. Paid by 2 years installment.
Which means, I've to pay $66.2 per month for 24 months. More debts. Kill me please.

It's the first time that I'm not happy getting a new toy. As I don't have the ability to get it right now. But there's no choice as my Lenovo is failing me. After only 21 months. So, Lenovo, blacklisted!
Hope this Toshiba can last me at least 3 years. God bless it me.

New toy

Bought a new toy today. Asus Transformer Pad, TF-300T. $749 for the tablet, $89 for extended 1 year warranty, $29.9 for clean screen gel and $16 deduction from member points. Total damage: $851.9
Paid $600, and mum paid the rest as birthday present for me. Got it as a birthday present for myself too. Though part of the reason to get a tablet is for mum to use. Easier for her.

This photo taken from google.

Initially only wanted to take a look at this tablet as I've previously wanted Ipad. Got to know about this through mum's friend. Did research last night, and find that it's not bad and has many good reviews. Found out it's the last set at Gain City, so instantly bought it.

Hello New Phone

Firstly, goodbye Galaxy Ace, that had served me since 5th May 2011. You've served me rather well other than the sucky battery life.

Hello Xperia Arc S! Got it using mum's contract. Originally $298, traded in my Galaxy Ace for $100 with $50 handset voucher. Paid $148 in cash. So expensive, as mum's line isn't with data plan. Since she has no use for it. Initially saw on the Starhub web that it's $248 based on mum's line. Ended up the staffs told us it's $298. Oh well...

Love how it looks plus the thinness! Other than that, shall decide if I'll love it anot for another few more days. When I get more familiarise with it. Main point, the battery life!

Temple day

Cab over to Yishun temple with mum at 5.30pm. Motive, pay a visit to Kong Zi! I think he's known as Confucius in english. As I had another test on this coming Thursday. So, ask for a little help from him. Heh.

Offerings.

Kong Zi, Confucius.

Used to be scared of them when I was young. They are very scary! Especially when the room is dark, with purple lights.

After that, we bused to North Point. Had Pasta Mania, since we have the voucher. Total : $26, becoming $21.

No, she's not acting cute. She was chewing her pizza when I snapped this.

Walked around after that, as I don't want to go home so early. Bought Mua Chee and Long Xu Tang from the Chinese New Year Food Fair.

Then to Guardian after that for Nurofen and Salonpas. For my headache and backache. I think my body is getting old...

Went to take a look at the shampoos and decided to buy this to try. $15, not cheap!

Bused home after that.

Canon IXUS 230 HS

Bought this camera, Canon IXUS 230 HS in black colour. Initially wanted purple. But it's out of stock & they only have black and silver left. Got the black instead as they're not sure when there will be new stocks also, since colours are secondary for me.

$360 + $6 courier

The seller told me the earliest it will reach me will be on Tuesday morning. Can't wait!
